How we use AI

Where it works, where it is filtered, and where it stops.

This is a product that uses AI, not an AI that has been handed a product. What sits between you and the model is a harness: a set of deliberate limits on what it is allowed to do, to say, and to invent. Being vague about where the AI is used would be a strange way to ask for your trust, so here is the whole picture.

Scripture is never written by AI

This is architectural, not a preference. The model is forbidden from producing verse text. It returns only a reference, such as book, chapter and verse. A separate verified database resolves the exact wording, and a checker confirms the text matches character for character. Anything that fails to resolve is stripped before it reaches you and recorded as a failure in the citation ledger under every answer. You can open that ledger and audit every reference yourself.

The reasoning is AI-generated, and it is directed

The scripture track is constrained to the tradition you selected. The business track is constrained to your stated role, entity type, jurisdiction and industry. Where you have not told us those things, the model is instructed to stay general and is explicitly forbidden from asserting any statute, deadline or dollar threshold as though it applied to you. A confident answer aimed at the wrong state is worse than a careful general one.

It is instructed to disagree with itself

The two tracks are developed independently and then compared. The model is told not to manufacture tension where none exists, and not to smooth over tension that does. When the two genuinely conflict, saying so is the product.

The words and artwork on this site

Much of the copy you are reading was drafted with AI assistance, then directed, cut and corrected by a person. The illustrations of Bezalel were generated with an AI image model and then art-directed and edited by hand. We would rather tell you that than have you wonder.

What the AI never does here

It does not decide. It does not quote scripture from memory. It does not guess your tradition, your state, or your gender. It does not claim to replace your pastor, your attorney or your accountant, and where the stakes warrant one of them, it is instructed to say so.

Your questions are private

Plainly, what happens to what you type or say.

We don't store them

Ask Bez has no database and no accounts. Your question exists only for the seconds it takes to answer it. Close the tab and there is no record of it on our side — there is nowhere for it to go.

We don't train on them

Your question is sent to Anthropic's API to generate the answer. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, content sent through the API is not used to train their models.

We don't track you

No analytics service, no advertising pixels, no cookies, no third-party scripts of any kind. The only things kept in your browser are your doctrinal and business settings and your monthly question count, and those never leave your device.

The one thing we do count

When the founding-access offer is shown, and when someone reserves a spot or declines it, we add one to a counter on our own server. Those counts carry no identifier. Not a cookie, not an account, nothing that ties a number back to you. We keep them only so the number of people who say yes has something to be a percentage of. If you give us your email to reserve a spot, we obviously keep that email, which is the entire point of the form, and we use it to tell you when the paid version is ready. Nothing else.

Scripture stays on your device

The full verse database is downloaded to your device once, and every citation is verified locally in your browser — not on a server. Verification works even with no connection.

Voice input goes through your browser, not us

The microphone uses speech recognition built into your browser. On Chrome and Safari that audio is transcribed by the browser vendor's service, under their privacy terms — we never receive, hear, or store the recording. Only the finished text lands in the box, and only if you press Ask. Nothing is captured until you tap the mic, and it stops the moment you tap it again.

What we can see

Standard web server records — the fact that a request happened, and the IP address it came from, held briefly to prevent abuse. Error reports never include the text of your question.

⚠ What this is not

A conversation with Bez is not legally privileged the way one with your attorney, accountant, or pastor is. It could, in principle, be discoverable in a legal dispute. Please avoid entering employee names, medical details, or specifics you would not want in writing. You will get an equally useful answer describing the situation generally.
